We were utterly reliant on Checkatrade to discover us a competent contractor for our repair job. We signed up and posted our project details, but unfortunately, we were left high and dry.

It all starts with their sneaky charges, which they hide in the small stuff. Then, there's the terrible helpline that's about as useful as a chocolate teapot. You can try to get your money back, but it's like chasing ghosts.

Right away, the communication from the "qualified" trader was lackluster/awful/terrible. He was unprofessional/rude/disrespectful and provided a quote that was outrageous/ridiculous/way too high. We tried to talk about the issues, but he was adamant/unwilling/stubborn to compromise/negotiate/change.

In the end, we ended up getting ripped off by this so-called "vetted" trader. Checkatrade's support was equally useless/incompetent/unhelpful. They offered us a pathetic excuse/blamed the trader/did nothing.

We're left feeling angry and would definitely not recommend Checkatrade for your tradesman needs.

My story with Checkatrade was a complete shambles. I hired a trader through their website to carry out some vital home repairs. They looked reliable at first, but it resulted in a horrendous ordeal.
